Imagine this. So there I was, heading home from work, and I’m looking at this blog about sugar. [http://candydishblog.com/2014/03/17/sugar-sugar-you-got-us-wanting-you/ .] Sure, it’s easy to multi-task. Then a call comes in, and I answer it. “Hello.” I’m hungry, but I resist grabbing the brownie left over from lunch.
Phone in my hand, I hear: “Want to get a drink?” I’m like, “Okay.”
At the pub, we have a couple of beers, a few cocktails, and just the wine at dinner. My buddy says he has some weed so we go to my car and do that. It’s going to be legal here – soon – I can hardly wait.
[I quit the smokes years ago. Everyone knows tobacco kills.]
Great, I’m good to go, wave out the puffs. Yawn. I text my boyfriend: B home in 20. Now I’m on my way, and this red flashing doo dah comes up behind me, yikes, better blow out of here fast! I’m probably over the limit. I’ve got the munchies, too, where’s that brownie, hit the gas, reach with my right hand….
Reader, can you guess what happens? Did the speaker elude the police car? Drive into a ditch, or worse?
What would you do in the above scenario?
Well, yours truly grabs the brownie, ignores the cell. I drive sober. I believe there is nothing wrong with sugar in moderation.
Again, what is the most dangerous substance among alcohol, marijuana, sugar and tobacco? And what about texting? Don’t know? You do know if you’re honest with yourself.
As for me, I do eat chocolate and put sugar in my black coffee. I like sweets of all kinds. My doctors say I have low blood pressure, and normal blood sugar count. My cholesterol is high, and I could lose some lbs. However, I don’t answer my phone or text while driving so please don’t do that! Have a great, safe, sugar-filled day.
